The need for mitigating risks and growing resilience isn’t only important for agriculture. Growing demand for seafood is placing a major strain on oceans and freshwater ecosystems and poor management is driving some to a state of collapse. By current estimates, 80 percent of global seafood stocks are being fished either at or over capacity. COSA is proud to partner with the State of Sustainability Initiatives for its forthcoming report: Standards and the Blue Economy.  The report, which will be launched May 11th, covers nine major seafood standards and is one of the first studies looking at the market and performance characteristics of standards in both the aquaculture and wild catch sectors.
