Sourcing trips to origins over the years instilled a deep passion in Carli Rosencranz for the concerns of smallholder farmers. What she saw sparked a deep interest to see how she could partner with communities to make a tangible and lasting difference.

By day, Carli is a Senior Director at Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, where she leads teams in global sourcing for packaged foods and consumable products, and works to achieve positive changes that align supply chains to Walmart’s ambitious climate and nature commitments. She has played a key role in Walmart’s high-visibility strategic initiatives and feels privileged to continuously learn from leaders in the field.

During a personal trip to Rwanda a few years ago, the seeds of an idea were planted that are still taking root. Guided by her deep belief that business can be used for positive change in the world, she turned her experience into a passion project, working to pilot and ultimately scale replicable business models with the ability to provide income diversification for rural coffee communities. “The potential to empower capable individuals to become catalysts of change through entrepreneurial efforts is an intersection of passions for me,” says Carli.

“I love Carli’s candor and her willingness to be bold when it matters”, said Daniele Giovannucci, COSA’s outgoing Board Chair. “She is not just very smart and experienced, she is also driven by purpose and by a commitment to do what is right, so I knew I had to have her join our efforts because her values completely align with those of our eminent Board”.
